This is a really quick question.  Doctor left a message saying the best thing is to get my gallbladder out.  Has anyone here gotten their gallbladder removed?  Was the deterioration caused by Sjogrens?  I know we all have such horrible GI problems but is this the normal course for us?  Will this removal only cause more problems to come?  I am so sick of surgeries.  Tomorrow colonoscopy again.  Last one was this past June.  Two months and I am being put back under.  Not liking this at all and I am having some anxiety.

Need a little help team.

Gall bladder surgery is not uncommon at all. It is also no uncommon to have gallbladder issues with Sjogrens. I have had gallbladder issues off and all many years and still have not reached the point of needing it out. I will tell you that they have been doing laparscopic gallbladder removal for many, many years with good luck and recovery is usually much easier than it used to be.

We all get anxious when we have surgery. It is normal. I figure anyone who isn't nervous about a surgery doesn't understand the situation. I figure the fear and anxiety are good for us as it hypes us up and gets our bodies chemicals surging to get us through the stress of surgery. Good luck. Irish

After a number of years of dealing with it, I had mine out. This was years before my Dx of Sjogrens. Since I also have chronic pain. It still hurt a couple of years later which was abnormal. The doctor said my on going pain was from fibromyalgia. Which it most likely was.
