Anyone else with the dropsies?

I used to think I was a klutz, but now wonder if my issue with dropping things is from neuropathy. I spent part of the day making a beautiful apple cake. We went for a walk before dinner and I was in excruciating pain by the time we returned (neck, back, forearms). After we ate I went to get a container to put food away and dropped a glass container onto a glass. No damage to me but glass everywhere and I had to throw the cake away, it was on the counter with the glasses.

I drop things fairly often and my left foot is dropping at times. Does this sort of stuff happen to any of the rest of you?

I am wondering if your droppsies are from one of your current diagnoses and yet I am wondering if there is something new going on with your. Do you have weakness in your hands and arms that is causing the droppsies??? You speak of foot drop also. I wonder if you are having some symptoms of myasthenia gravis. This is an autoimmune neurological disease that causes muscle weakness in arms and legs plus eyelid droopiness and trouble breathing due to the diaphram being weak. The diaphragm is a muscle and when it is affected by the disease we can get shortness of breath and almost feel like we have asthma.

There is blood work that can be done and yet a person can have seronegative myasthenia gravis also. I have this disease and it started when I was around 21 years old. These weakness symptoms can improve after lying down and resting. I always thought for years that I was just a weak person and got tired easily. Come to find out it was more than fatigue. It took me til I was 63 years old to get the droopy eyelids. I would advise you to get a referral to a neurologist to be checked for this. Often the family doctor will think it is all in our head as they don't always put all the symptoms together and come up with something. Just a thought as you have some history of weakness, etc that might be more than you think it is. Good luck. Irish.

Definitely have have the dropsies - but not all the time.

It's been kind of a running joke in my family - I don't have many breakables in my house.

It happens when I am tired or when I have been using my hands a lot. When I first started on this "what the heck is wrong with me journey" it concerned my rheumie and, with my initial brain scan, he suspected MS. A subsequent brain scan and a neuro dismissed MS. Combine fatigue and brain fog with trying to get things done somewhat fast - I drop things. Distraction doesn't help either or hand pain. I often hold my coffee mug with one had underneath, just in case. These days I take it as a sign to slow down.
