Strong knee pains...

o another weird thing to ask about - and I tell you there are many! The last few nights around 3 am I wake up with these deep, aching knee pains. I at first thought they might be related to the small fiber neuropathy (that they think might be happening). I had this happen in 2011 for about 2-3 weeks and it just went away. The pains start in the early morning hours, feel like a deep tendonitis ache around my knee (not in the middle). Last night they woke me at 3 am and I tried to doze as I massaged, moved around and tried to find relief - it was awful. I had an appointment with my rheumy this morning and he had no idea what might be causing it at all - kind of crazy, but I even put dots on the outside of my knees where it hurt so bad with a sharpie so I could show him where it was. I just hope to avoid it tonight! I am going to try and go to bed earlier because it doesn't happen until the early morning time. If you have had this and know what to do, or what it is, please let me know!

Actually I figured it out - tendonitis, not from over use but probably autoimmune as I sometimes get tendonitis other places during a flare. A little ice before bed and a ibuprofen and I have slept well - now if everything was that simple!

Good.. glad you figured it out.

I get pains in my knee sometimes and I think it comes from my hip. If the hip gets inflamed it can cause pain all the way down ... sciatica can also cause knee pain.
