During a follow up visit, my PCP happened to notice a white patch on my tongue.
He thinks it looks like Oral Thrush and has sent it for a culture.
With all this sudden spate of symptoms, I am not at all sure which is causing what.
I have read a few posts talking about Leaky Gut due to Candida.
I have this sudden hope that the candida is causing all my other symptoms (MGD, acne, dry mouth/throat) and can be cured.
Have any of you tried anti-candida medications/diets?
I see that a lot of alternative practitioners talk about Candida but I don't see a lot of posts from regular medicine doctors.
Is the Candida blood test a good indicator of Candida overgrowth?
I guess the more possible scenario is that the Oral Thrush infection has showed up because of weak immunity/dry mouth  >:(
My dry mouth is very mild though and there has been no tests to show that the immune response is weak.

My symptoms were sudden onset too. Dry mouth, eyes, nose and throat all in one night. Ongoing since January. My doc thought it was thrush too. I took oral thrush meds for a couple weeks to no avail for dry mouth.

Hi,

Dry mouth is a huge culprit in developing thrush.  My dry mouth has been caused by Sjogrens.  Before I was diagnosed I thought I had some systemic candida problem and maybe you do!  I realize now that MY issue was Sjogrens.  I also had a series of vaginal candida infections which were also caused by dryness.

An oral surgeon had ordered an anti fungal lozenge for me to take daily just to prevent candida in my oral cavity.  However, I have found that a couple of drops of oil of oregano under my tongue does the same thing.  I also use a tongue scraper daily and take Evoxac, and use Xylomelts at night, etc.

We do so much to maintain our balance!  I hope you find the right answers for YOU.
