First time sick since I got diagnosed with sjogrens.   Need some direction.   Pretty miserable right now.   The burning sore throat is off the charts.   I do have massive drainage and congestion.
ANA 1:40, homogeneous pattern, Plaquenil 200 mg 2 x day, Vitamin D, multivitamin, fish oil, Probiotic,  Ibuprofen, omeprazole 40 mg, Corlanor 5mg 2x day.

Paracetamol & Ibuprofen
Coffee - My favourite panacea

Hot stock (chicken, green herb stock 1 tsp dissolved in a mug with a dash of milk - I find it can help ease the phlegm in the throat)

And for the sore throat my recommendation is Fisherman's Friend Original lozenges.  I think they taste dreadful but I use to describe it as a 'total throat numb'.

I hope you feel better soon.

Some warm or hot soup helps me feel more comforted. I have to drink more liquids, and take Tylenol for temperature, and Ibuprophen for aches. Swish with salt water for scratchy throat, but also it feels good to rub some Vicks Vapo Rub on my neck and chest, then cover up warm.

warmwaters

Warm liquid - breathe in the steam, sooth the throat.  Hot water, tea, coffee, Chicken broth.

I stay away from dairy, as it makes the mucus thicker

If you can tolerate - mucinex to clear congestion (I use the generic), antihistimine (but it is drying)

Cough lozenges

Ibuprofin for aches

Netflix subscription to amuse myself while I loll about feeling bad :-)

Hot shower combines steam and muscle relaxing.

If you get a fever and the shakes, please see a doctor to swab for the flu. I know several people (including my husband) who have gotten it in the last few weeks in spite of the flu shot. And one who died of the flu last week. Please don't underestimate it!

Take care,

Genko
