Test Results

The Doc called today.

Apparently I'm not releasing eggs ie not ovulating.  My progesterone is low.  My white blood cells and lymphocytes are sky high.  My Thyroid is low.  She asked me if I'd had a virus, I said no.  She said to test again at the beginning of July.  Cortisol is fine.

I've no idea what any of this really means does anyone know what this means?

I do not know what this means,but If you are not seeing a specialist I would suggest finding one now. It might be good to check with an Endocrinologist or specialist in secreting glands such as the thyroid, etc. All of the above issues could be related to the thyroid.

An endocrinologist can help sort this out more easily as all you see to have issues with secreting hormones. The thyroid can affect the blood cells also. If the endocrinologist can't figure it all out he will probably ask for another specialist to help him.

It seems to me that waiting and doing blood work again and then see a doctor who doesn't get it will not be to your advantage. Maybe you can get a referral from this doc or another one of your doctors. Good luck. Irish

Thanks. My Dr never seems to take anything seriously.  I'll make an appointment with her and ask for a referral.  Thanks again, I wasn't sure if this was autoimmune related but it seems not.

I'm having my thyroid examined via ultrasound this coming Sunday for any inflammation or damage as well as the face to check the submandibular glands. My doctor has a habit of simply repeating blood tests until I push her to investigate properly.  She did this for 18 months until I pushed for further investigation re Sjogrens.

Doctor called to let me know that she spoke to the endocrinology department who asked me to be referred to them as other test results came back today and a whole load of hormones are low which warrants further investigation.  Thyroid showed no sign of inflammation or damage after the ultrasound I had so I've no idea what's going on, perhaps a tumor?  I'm obviously envisioning the worst possible scenario so let's hope I get this appointment quickly.

Oh cari, relax and breathe! No sense worrying until your appointment at which time the doctor most likely will re run your labs. I know, that's easier said than done! My daughter as well was refered to endocrinology because her calcium was elevated and tsh was low. She also has autoimmune problems, specifically Behcet's syndrome as the main course with a couple of sides. Of course I tried not to flip since I just had total thyroidectomy due to papillary thyroid carcinoma. Anyhow. Doctor ran her labs again and calcium came back normal, but tsh still low. He said that can happen after a period of high inflammation in the body. Also she had a major event after she fell down the stairs and her Isaac's went completely wack. That was when the original labs were drawn. Things like that can really throw your labs for a loop and they simply have to be retested a few weeks later to see if all the imbalances settled down. In my daughters case her labs will be redone in four weeks. I'm glad the doctor tested her for autoimmune thyroid disease just in case which came back normal.
So, take a breath, worrying will literally throw you into a flare and wear you down and not help you!

I know   I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow for a chat.  Will probably re run the tests on Saturday and hopefully have the end. appointment in a couple of weeks.  My brain is spinning from all these tests and appointments. I'm also trying to look after myself physically but it seems that mentally I'm in a tailspin.  Adding to all these tests and the concern is the fact that I'm going away in August so I'm anxious about that.  I know I need to calm down
