Pros and cons of medrol?

Gurs, except for a taper pack for a flare, I started on 4 mg of Medrol, daily.  And I've never had more.  And no prednisone at all.

I'm down to 2mg/1.5mg alternating.  But now I have 1800 mg of Neurontin a day!

It will be interesting to see how my IVIG goes 48 hours afterwards.  I have the IVG on Wednesday, so about Friday afternoon, if that isn't enough Medrol, I should show signs of flare.

I would prefer to have about 3 mg of Medrol a day, forever.  I have had, of course, no side effects since 1) it's a small dose and 2) I've only been doing this since about December 19, 2013.  Very recently.

I take the Medrol to be able to tolerate the IVIG.  It's the only reason.  My Immunologist is hoping that I can cut out the Medrol all together.  she dislikes RX medrol for the very reasons you describe.

I'm not so sure my Immune System, at 72, is ever going to 'play nice' or learn how to do so!  But we shall see.
