Different kind of pain in legs

Besides the numbness, tingling, burning and stabbing pain and feeling of cold water dripping on me (legs and arms mostly, but other parts of body as well), I get this feeling in my legs that's sort of a tickle sensation.  It accompanies weakness and is very uncomfortable.  It amplifies when I'm active, such as riding my bike.  Kind of feels like the tickling some get during a pedicure (or at least I get), but not as intense.  My legs will sometimes buckle as well.

I keep ignoring it but it's pretty constant now.  I'm thinking it's some kind of neuropathy, but I'm not sure.  I know I've mentioned seeing a Neuro in the near future in other posts, but I've decided to wait until after my 8/7 Rheumy appointment to see what she thinks.  Not crazy about the thought of adding one more "ologist" to my list.

Any thoughts?

Definitely need to see a neurologist!!

There are many causes of neuropathy and it takes a while for various testing to rule out some causes...and determine the severity of the neuropathy.  But in most cases, there are medications to help...neurontin, Lyrica, Cymbalta, IVIG, etc.

Thanks again, Anita.  Making that appointment tomorrow.  Can't take Cymbalta because I'm on Prozac, and tried Lyrica but it did not work for me but hopefully one of the others will do the trick after they figure out what's going on.

I see you have/had Lyme...neuropathy is VERY common with Lyme disease...even years later.  Actually, neuorpathy is probably one of the most common complaints with Lyme disease.

Let us know after you see the neurologist and what he/she has to say.

Lyme is what I've been thinking is the trigger.  I've had it twice, although the neuropathy is relatively new...past two years.  I also have tremors now.  Arms/legs/internal. Not sure if that's related to anything or just normal.

Will keep you posted.
