Kimmie

Hi guys..I'm just added and just re diagnosed yesterday. I had been 5 years ago as well, but that dr moved and so did my results. Anyway, this is so confusing. I had a negative ANA with a ssa of 3.7. My new rhuemy said it meant I was over 3 time the normal? My DNA DS antibody was 5. Below 4 is normal, over 10 is positive. My sed rate is 56 with being on 500mg of Naproxin. What does this mean and what is my titer with this number?

Kimmie

Oh yeah...I have primary and neg for SSB. I also have seizures, but rhuemy said it's not related and I have to go to nuero.

Hello, Kimmie, and WELCOME!

1.  Autoimmune/immune dysfunction conditions often do not show up on the tests doctors have.  As my superstar Immunologist says:  We use the tests we have, not the tests we NEED!

2.  Autoimmune/immune dysfunction conditions can affect every system in our bodies.  Neurologic disorders are very common with Sjogren's for example.  If your Rheumatologist doesn't know this, he is not 'completely informed'.  Your seizure disorder may not be related to your autoimmune/immune dysfunction condition, and if it is, you WILL want to see a neurologist.  But I would suggest that you consider a 'second opinion' in the area of Rheumatology as well.

3.  Many of us find the best help and support through a major medical center connected with a research university/medical school.

I don't know anything about the factors that go with diagnosing Sjogren's, Kimmie.  I have a Primary Immune  Deficiency Disorder and my basic immune system produces the damage without autoantibodies.  I have all of the attacks on my salivary and tear producing glands, and many other problems, but they are not caused by autoantibodies.

Here you will find support, information, and ideas for improving your health and life.

Again, welcome Kimmie.
