Pilocarpine and horrible side effects?

Sorry if this post is redundant but I would like to hear from anyone who had experienced chills, profuse sweating, depression, dizziness and general flu like misery from pilocarpine. I barely took a pill's worth today (split into 2 doses) and I was laid out in bed for most of the day with plenty if saliva but a terrible flu like malaise.

Does this get better with time or should I try exovac? I felt completely incapacitated, my mood was low, and completely unproductive despite my wet mouth.

Personally, I experienced fewer side effects with Evoxac.  I had bladder spasms and elevated pulse with Pilocarpine.  I definitely recommend Evoxac.

Hang in there. Depending on how much you are willing to handle so that you can have saliva...I have been on it for 50 days now, and I have less side effects, however I might have only blurred vision at times, but most of the time the chills, the cold sweat from all the wrong places, and so on. However, I barely get saliva with them, so I will have to keep taking them until I am able to try the Evoxac.

I took this medicine before Evoxac and never had this reaction to it.  Just sweating but not profuse.

I have been on varying dosages of pilocarpine since early Dec, 2013.  My initial side effects included increased saliva, jitters, nausea (really-wooziness), mild..very mild...tremors + terrific stomach gripes.  Never flu like symptoms but for upper body sweating.  Not truly like flu.  I read the drug insert which instructed to allow the side effects several days to go away.  All did but stomach.  I decreased the med by 1/3.  Solved the woe.  It took me 5 months to get up to original Rx strength...was worth it to me.  That's just me though.  It's the only med I take from the rheumatologist.

The only symptom I have now (and not sure it is pilocarpine) is overall body itching.  No rashes, no specific area.  All over....from bottoms of toes to top of head.  Upper arms and calves are giving me fits this a.m. (as well as last night when I got in bed.)

Happy Mother's Day! Have a good one.

I had strong reactions to both Evoxac and pilocarpine.  About a half hour after taking it, intense stomach cramping, nausea, dizziness, tunnel vision.  It lasted for about 45 mins and then went away and I had increased saliva for a couple of hours.  Definitely not for me.  I don't know if the reactions would have gone away with time, but it was clear my body did not like it.
