I think I had a negative Mast test too though, or do you mean something else? I'll look it up. All this auto-immune/allergy/immune deficiency combo has me very confused.

After looking Mastocytosis up, I think I will talk it over with my allergist/immunologist. It could be that all my symptoms (allergies, Sjogrens, cvid) are caused by a central problem or they could activate each other. Or some of the  treatments for one of them might cause and increase other symptoms. I get the feeling that maybe they just haven't gotten to the point of being able to really diagnose or understand what is going on. My first symptoms of extreme fatigue and weakness occurred after I had the flu in 1984- the same year there was an outbreak of what came to be known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome- not so far from where I live in Northern California. There was no name for it at that time -- ergo no diagnosis. I still have those symptoms but now I have some diagnoses: Sjogren's and CVID. 30 years later. I wonder if we are still another 30 years from a real understanding of the problem. Of course, I'll be 102 so I doubt that a diagnosis or even a cure would do much good by then.

It's hard to find a Dr who knows how to test or treat mastocytosis and related disorders.... but it's worth a try!

Keep researching! I think one site is www. tmsforacure.org .. not sure that's it.

Carolina - That is exactly how my itching presents, as well! I've never been able to figure out if it's related to what I eat? I am allergic to a ton of vegetables and fruit, but usually avoid them.  After having the itching last for weeks, I started to eat more vegan and cut out gluten. Unless it's just an unrelated lark, I feel that this diet has helped with the itching.

I do know that when my system is in a flare, I itch all over and my skins burns.  The itching is like a Christmas tree with lights that twinkle on and off.

And the itching is more like stabbing and stinging, but no hives.
