I remember reading that there were several deaths in Texas from this. Current flu shots cover H1n1 as well. I know a lot of people who say they don't believe in flu shots but I think it is too risky not to get one especially if you are going to expose someone who can be negatively impacted.

It's funny that I was delayed in getting mine and asked my rheum for a flu shot a few weeks ago. Her nurse came in to administer the shot and said she didn't t see why I was bothering because flu season was almost over. I don't think the season has peaked yet but I would still like to be covered.

Thanks for the article.

St.Louis area also has many cases in the last three weeks. The news reported they are seeing a lot of cases in healthy people they normally don't see in the emergency room with the flu.

I heard about it on the news as I myself was suffering from the flu.

I can not have the flu shot due to egg allergy and this was my first time ever having the flu.  I tested positive for the flu.

My physician informed me there will be an egg free version of the flu shot readily available next year.  I will be in her office the moment it is available next flu season...  I have never been so sick and for 8 days I thought I would never feel better again..  That is how I spent my birthday and Christmas.

Doctors here say it is not to late to get the flu shot, there is at least another 4-6 weeks of the flu season..

Stay well,
