Questions about clinic...there is a possibility I don't have lymphedema at all

Well, I am totally befuddled.   Yes, I have minor swelling in my ankles and legs....it's minor.  I can wear my shoes, no sores, no flaking skin,  and the tiny brown spots the dr saw don't look like anything at all to me.  ??  And the doc diagnosed me in 10 seconds. It turns out the symptoms for venous insufficiency are the SAME as lymphedema.  Not sure I need or want all these treatments.

I am wondering if this clinic turns anyone away.  There have been stories in the waiting room that suggest there is a push to bring patients into this facility.

It turns out the symptoms of venous insufficiency are the same as leg lymphedema.  Exactly the same.

I see the neuro Mon and I'm NOT wearing the bandages to see him.  I'm afraid he will see me as that somatoform syndrome crazy lady who goes to the doc till she gets the diagnosis she wants.  Trust me, I don't want this diagnosis.

Wish I'd gotten a second opinion.  Wish I'd followed up on the venous thing.  Wish I'd used my head and weighed all this out.

There was such a rush to get me into treatment....no time to think, no time to consider anything...sign here. Take home this expensive pump machine and 2 leg pump garments. ...your insurance will pay.

Lots of unanswered questions but I hope to get answers Monday.  I feel pretty stupid for taking this doc's word for this w/out getting a second opinion.  Geesh, call me crazy.

Tinker please stop guessing yourself. You are beating yourself up and inflicting bruises upon your already battered body. You trusted this professional to diagnose you correctly. You cannot undo the direction you went in. It sounds like the place you went for treatment had it's own interests at heart.
I hope that you get the answers that you deserve. Do something nurturing for yourself tonite.

Cassi, I know you are right.  I placed my trust in this guy and the GP referred me there, so I assumed all was ok.

It's hard to know who to trust or believe.  I suppose a cardio guy will tell me I need a procedure.  A surgeon will tell me I need surgery, etc.

lol, what's a girl to do?   ;)
