Hi everyone. I got results of tests, and my B12 is low at 119. Is that very low? My TSH also is low at 0.21, and not surprising my SED RATE at 35.

I won't be able to see my regular gp until Tuesday. Appreciate any input.

Thanks

Madison Granny

That is low for your B12.  I don't know about the others.  My B12 was down there too in late February of last year.  I tried the pills but they did not agree with my stomach so my Rheumy started me on the shots in early June and my B12 is about 500 well within the normal range.  I see my Rheumy next Thursday and we will see what I need to do next.
Primary SJS, dRTA, Osteroporis, OAB, stage 3 kidney disease, hypothyroid and high blood pressure.  Medicine I take are plaquenil, bicarb, prolia, synthroid, toprol and amolipine, citracal and vitamin D.  I use Arex and Azasite and Prolia.  I also have Reynaud's and osteoarthris of the toes

Thank you Madison Granny. I hope my gp gives me the shots in case I am not absorbing some meds. I hope yours is doing better.

Your TSH is low, which means you are hyperthyroid.  My guess is that your doctor will lower your dosage synthroid a bit.

How are you feeling, Susan?   Any nervousness or agitation at all?  The positive thing is that once your meds are adjusted, you should start to feel better within a few weeks.   ;).  Take care.

I guess my b12 is quite low then. Didn't know that low numbers on the tsh was hyper, I guess I wasn't thinking. Yes, I have been irritable, and just not right for a while.

Thanks Everyone

Your B-12 number is unacceptably low.  Around 200- 300 is considered the low end of normal, and many experts say that 300 is too low, especially for people with chronic illnesses.  I would suggest getting some sublingual Methylcobalamin B-12 tablets.  The methyl form is absorbed more readily than the more common cyanocobalamin form.  Hopefully the doc will give you shots.  Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for your input. I don't even know how long my b12 has been that low. I will see my regular gp Tuesday.
