Okay fellow SW forum pals,
I started feeling like crud day before yesterday.  I thought it was the rain and fog rolling in.  But not sure about that now.  My whole body hurts but like the rest of you I'm sure... that's fairly standard for Sjogren's.  I was starting to think I'd picked up this year's bad flu since I felt significantly worse than normal cruddy. However, this seems new.

My arm pits, groin area and neck are all sore and slightly puffy.  Seems like mostly a lymph node problem maybe because that's where those are located.  I'm itchy too but hard to tell if that is just because I'm having over-sensitivity problems.  You know every little stray hair falling out of my pony tail is driving me mad kind of sensitivity.  Anyway, so anyone else dealt with something similar?

I mean I feel like my arms and legs are slightly ajar from the bloat in those areas.  It feels like its affecting all my joints not just the ones I've named but obviously those are the most noticeable.  I'd go lay down but I'm so uncomfortable laying down hurts worse.  I can't get my head any rest because it is attached to my neck.  Can't get my arms any rest because they join up at my pits.  Can't rest my legs because they meet at my groin.  I'm friggin miserable and this is a new level of discomfort for me.  I thought I'd gotten fairly used to the old level.  Now I feel like a whiney baby all over again.  Wah wah wah wah.

And I've clawed myself half skinless but it seems like there is nothing actually wrong with my skin other than me clawing it... I'm just clawing because I feel like I've got stuff crawling on me.  Anyway, whatever is causing the inflammation and pain is spreading to other parts.  My knees and elbows are stiff in the last hour or so.  In fact, it wasn't until that happened that I had to take a really long look at my body and realize there's something more than irritation going on with me.  Can you get the mumps at my age?  I never had them as a kid.  I missed the mumps and the measles by randomly being at camp both times the family got struck with them?  I don't even know what they look like because I was gone.  But it seems like you get swollen lymph nodes.  Oh dang it... I'm gonna be so pissed if that's what I got.  I thought I'd lucked out and missed the whole mumps boat.  Dangitdangitdangit.  I'm gonna shut up now.  I bet that is exactly what is going on.  What little germ sack gave me mumps?  I don't even go near kids because they are usually snot farms.  Grrrrrr!  Ahhhhhhhhh!  And if that's what it is there is nothing I can do is there?  I guess I'll go google mumps.  :(  GG

Hi

With so many lymph nodes swollen - you need to see a doctor. There are various things that can cause this and I'm sure you willhave looked for them.

The only time this happened to me was when I contracted glandular fever. (Mono) It's called glandular fever in the UK. It can take a while to get over and can be really bad.

I hope you feel better soon. You need to find out why you have so many swollen glands though.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Well the nurse told me "whatever you do, do not come up here we have wall to wall flu patients sneezing coughing and otherwise spreading their infections. With your auto-immune issues you'd be sure to pick it right up walking in the door. Plus the wait is incredibly long to be seen."  Anyway it has gone down but now I am so flipping tired I vacuumed half the living room in this teeny tiny apt and had to sit down.  Now I can't lift my arms without major effort and I've stopped 3 times while typing this. That is some extra special level of exhaustion is it not?  GG

They need to run a few labs on you for sure but definitely you need a mono spot test.

I would make sure to get to the doc as soon as you can find a way to avoid the flu. I will be interested to know if the itching is also in the equation. Please take this seriously as so many glands involved certainly are out of the ordinary. Good luck. Irish
