My experience with taking Sam-E has been excellent.  I cannot take anti-depressants, but I've used Sam-E for short periods of time over the past several years when I've felt blue and it definitely does work. For me, taking more than 200 mg (1 pill) caused a little anxiety and increased insomnia.  I haven't taken it regularly enough to speak to it's anti-inflammatory effects though....am definitely curious about that.

Sam-e saves my life in winter. It acts pretty quickly for me, within a day I notice a difference. I take 200-400mg/day, depending on how I feel. I feel twitchy if I take too much. I start the SAD season with 200 mg/day, increasing as I need to.

Not really sure on the anti-inflammatory aspect. Too many other factors, usually foods, influence that.
Age 61; Blood type 0-; Sjogren's Dx 2005, sero-negative; plaquenil, 200-400mg/day; lunesta; vivelle dot; omega3, 4gm/day; CoQ10;  vit D3. Wheat free; dairy free. Homeopathy and acupuncture help enormously.

I think you can get this in 100mg? does this cause anxiety at all?
