I have to go back to my eye doctor next Friday to have him put in punctal plugs. What do they do to put them in? Is it painful?

Thanks Chris and Sharon. That sounds great. I hope they help me too.

Me and my husband both had eye exams today, and I was wanting a new prescription for Restasis, and he said he wanted to try the plugs first to see if they helped.

If they do, I might not have to use the Restasis again.

The plug seems like the size of a small eyelash which he inserted with a tweezer-like instrument; it took one second, was not uncomfortable and no pain at all.  My eyes felt better initially, but over the course of a few weeks, my eyes felt even more comfortable (but still dry and need drops every day).  I still want to try Restasis, though!
