I was amazed to discover today that there are full length moves available on YouTube.  Just go to their site and type in a movie name.  You just might find yourself in luck.  I'm watching Fiddler on the Roof now---one of my favs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdm2CKLiJ6Q

Lots of sites have free tv and movies: pbs.org, ch131.com, free-tv-video-online.me, movie2k.to, tubeplus.me  just to name a few.

Sometimes the quality is poor, but hey, no commercials (with ad-block).

I love being able to see aussie shows, and british shows, and canadian. And also go back and watch episodes I've missed.

Be sure you have up-to-date and powerful anti-virus software, though....

We purchased a Roku ($50) with Netflix ($8), and Hulu Plus ($8) We get most of what we got with Satellite. We would be in good shape if I could figure out how to record the over-the-air TV channels. There may be a Tivo with our name on it so Jan can see the shows that she misses. Most of the series that we watch are on Netflix or Hulu. The shows are shorter with out all of the commercials!

One of the OTA channels has old shows from the 60's, another from the 70's and 80's. There are too many religious OTA channels to count. (30?) Often the religious channels have the same show on at the same time.

Thanks Calli and Joe!

We don't have any over the air broadcast or cable/satellite at our house.  We did get Roku and watch a lot of movies and some older TV series that are free to us after a $79 a year Amazon Prime membership.  We also rent or 'purchase' for download a few movies via our Amazon Prime also (newer or very popular movies such as The Godfather, The Santa Clause).  Most of the prices are reasonable, comparable to the video store and we don't have to go out to pick up and return them---or forget about taking them back on time.

One of my fav things about Amazon Prime is actually the free two day shipping available on so many things that I order from tears to garbage bags to gifts to---well, you name it, from big ticket to small everyday items. :)  I don't drive and am not up to shopping usually even with the offer of a ride.  I try to minimize my husband's Saturday trips to 'just' the grocery store, the library, the bakery for my Mom and the laundromat for us when ever possible.  That's plenty him to do, bless his heart!

Most public libraries have entire TV series' DVDs available, too. We'll be doing a "Fringe" marathon sometime, since it is just too much trouble keeping track of who is whom on what universe when you tune in intermittently.

Sharon, looks like I need to add "Fringe" as the next series I view.  Late evening/night, so far this year, I've watched all of "24", 'Numbers", "West Wing" and "My Name is Earl"---it's been nearly a week since I've had a series picked to view. :)

I just finished watching 4 seasons worth of ReGenesis, a Canadian science drama (over a period of a few weeks---not a marathon). Eek, international bioterrorism action! Fun!
