I will be seeing my neuro tomorrow regarding pain and specifically neuropathy. We've tried Cymbalta and Elavil.

Is Savella too drastic?? I have a very sensitive stomach.

I tried savella a few months ago.  I loved it.  I stayed on the lowest dose for a month.  My tingling pain was gone, and my fatigue was gone.  I slept well.  The only significant drawback was that it made my heart race all day.  I had to stop it due to that.  I had a tad of nausea in the beginning but nothing very bothersome.

I'm on Savella.  For me, it seems to prevent migraines.  When I first went on it, I had to make sure to eat something when I took it, because I would become very nauseous.  I also had issues with it raising my heart rate, so I had to titrate up the dose very slowly.

I tried Savella and it didn't do anything for me.  It didn't hurt me either.  OLucy

I noticed a big difference after starting Savella.  My pains weren't as bad.  Hope it works for you!

Well, we ended up not discussing it. When I saw the "heart racing" thing I knew it wasn't for me. I can barely drink tea without it making my heart race. I have atrial fibrillation so I have to be careful.

We discussed my going to a pain clinic but we agreed that I really can't handle narcotics. My stomach just can't do it.

So he gave me lidoderm patches and a script for Tramadol. I have previously tried Tramadol and had problems with my stomach and it didn't work for me. I think I was on a low dose though. He told me to take 2 tablets every 6 hours. It seemed to help my feet but my neck is really bad this week and it hasn't helped it much.

My pharmacist said I could take the Tram with Mylanta, so that is what I did today.

I'm a little anxious about the patches because they might make my heart race. My hubby is gone this evening, so I'm going to wait until he gets home for me to try one.

Thanks for the info, guys! :)

Hi jazzlover,

Yes, I'he taken Savella for about 2 years and it's helped my fatigue and stinging Fibro pain quite a bit.

I see that this option's been taken off the idea table because of palpitation issues. Can't say I blame you there!  I really hope you tolerate tramadol well and it helps you.  Keep us updated ok?
