valene, If you have been taking xanax on a regular basis do not, I repeat, do not stop it cold turkey. This drug is very good when used as it is prescribed, but can be physically addicting. In other words, a person may not be psychologically addicted to it, but the body gets addicited to it and has to taper off very slowly.

People can become very anxious, nauseated, vomit, headaches, etc and in severe cases can have seizures if the quit cold turkey. Talk to your doctor about taper dosing if you are trying to stop. I would advise you not to try to go off the the xanax when you are starting a new antidepressant. It can be very confusing trying to sort out what symptom is from what drug.

In other words, quitting one causes symptoms and sometimes a new drug causes some symptoms that need to be identified and adjusted to. When stopping and starting pills at the same time you have no idea what is causing what. Good luck. Irish

Hahaha! I was going to write about my wonderful underarm deodorant in this thread --- because I thought it said "Anti-perspirant that doesn't dry out..."

Can you spell b-r-a-i-n f-o-g???

::)

(In case anyone is curoius, I use Ban roll-on unscented anti-perspirant because it's gluten-free and fragrance-free and artificial color free.)

that was hilarious !  thanks for the laugh!!

if anyone can help answer if it helps with ocd/ anxiety...not the deodorant tho..:PPP

so far tho no extra dryness..which is good.so maybe it will help w/ my depression which in turn will help the ocd i would think.....  i def cant take anything to dry my pore eyes or mouth out more-even if it did help w/ ocd cause i would be miserable!!!  so fingers crossed ..1st day on wellbutrin so good so far.

valene, I thought you asked your doc for the welbutrin???? Don't worry about it, just take it and see what happens. OCD, anxiety and depression are all very closely inter related. Irish

Hi Val,

I'm on day five :)  It has helped a lot already though I am having even more trouble sleeping than usual. I was really on the fence until I read that it can help with Neuropathy. Two birds, one stone! Of course I'm a vegetarian so I wouldn't really throw anything at a bird :)

Hope you are feeling well!

valene2009

hey there Brook.. so you feelit is helping.? i def have more energy.. and you said your doc prescribed it also for you ocd? i am hoping it will help with mine but have a feeling that may take 3-4 weeks... keep me posted or private message me. i will do the same! thanks!

Try not to get too excited yet about any of the things you may be experiencing. Natural desire for improvement can make our minds think that we are rushing towards cure, etc., only to be discouraged down the road.

I would not venture to expect any really significant improvement for a couple of weeks at least. Remember that expecting nothing and being pleasantly surprised is better than expecting the world and being disappointed down the road. Good luck. Irish
