Hi all,
couple of weeks ago my memory tests were done and Clinical Psychol Dr.  said I did so poorly in every section that he was confused I can still carry on a conversation like a normal person.  !!!
He said my memory seemed to shut down and I had very little recall.  Said I shouldn't be driving and should see my neurologist immediately.

Well, I saw my Rheumy last week.  She said I can still go see a Neuro. soon but the memory testing doesn't take in to account Fibro fog and chronic pain and what that does to your brain over the long term.  Rheumy doesn't want to put me on any fibro pain meds that could cause MORE cognitive issues so I'm on Mobic to help with my Fibro. body pain inflammation.  It's a prescription NSAID.

Rheumy sent me today for the first time to an Orthopedic Physical Therapist and they found lots of neck/back spasms going on...said Fibromyalgia can bring them on.   So will get a couple of manual therapy sessions to get myself 'loose-as-a-goose'.    : )

I'm seeing a cervical spine specialist in two weeks to check for any hereditary RA neck complications.  My neck arthritis seems to be worse.  My dad and his mother were crippled from RA.

I'm seeing a NEW neurologist in two weeks at University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
Will see what he says of all my findings between the Fibro/SJS, neck pain and cognitive stuff.

Oh, and by the way....as a side note...I stopped by to see my friend at work on the way home from the PT.   She just looked at me with this pity look in her eyes.   I couldn't stand it...I know I don't appear as youthful and vigorous as I have in the past but that look....I don't want to see that look again.  I'm so darn weak and fatigued and then I see that disapproving look that seems to say....  " you should just have more fun and go places !"      good grief.

Well - I guess the first step in making anything better is to define the scope of the problem...maybe those test results will light a fire under the doctors' butts and they'll get you some kind of a treatment routine that helps you more than the current one.

It must be really disconcerting to get those results. (((((hugs)))))

You sound reasonably coherent on here.... :D

Do let us know what the neurologist says and I sure hope you gets some answers and solutions.  It has to be very frustrating for you.  When we are really sick, we are hoping a doctor's appointment will bring answers and a plan to improve.

Take care of yourself.

I know about 'that look'. Is she a friend you haven't seen for some time? If she is, she may not have seen a more gradual deterioration over time. I know that someone I hadn't seen for a couple of years was visibly shocked when she saw me on a bad day. Had she seen me on a better day, I'm sure her response would have been different.

As Anna says, please do let us know what the neuologist says.
