i went to the library and got books on autoimmune.. more confusing than anything.. claims that state people get so much better after chelation.. just curious if anyone tried it on here? and what is it?

i searched some older posts and saw a few comments.... in my opinion if chelation or leaky gut "cured" autoimmune or sjogrens there wouldnt be so many of us on here and we would here about it more in the mainstreaM.... right????

i dont want to accept it but it appears i am realizing i have too..... thanks.....for anyone's opinion/advise.help.. :)

I have not done chelation after the Dx of sjogrens. It was suggested for fibro in some of the lit I read. A number of people ended up with the Sx of fibro after the gulf war. Fluoride poisoning has a lot of the same Sx as fibro. So in that case Chelation worked.

Chelation is a very controversial subject.  My GP dabbles in naturopathy kind of things and does chelation in his office.  He has many patients who do chelation and I've been in the room as I somtimes I get iv vitamins.

I have asked some of these people and I get different answers as to why they are doing chelation.  Some are doing it for their heart.  Answer= I do not know.  Some are doing it because they have tooth fillings made of certain things.  Whatever it is, insurance does not cover this.  I know in the beginning people go as often as once a week and later on that can be spaced out further.  Sorry I can't give you more info, but personally I do not believe in chelation.

If others do and want to partake, that's great and maybe it does do them some good.  If I had some deadly disease or whatever and I thought this would help, I'd probably do it too.  I believe the people doing it do think it's the right thing for them.  So-as if it helps the patient, I do not know.  So-if it helps the dr, yes it does, it fattens his pocketbook.

i agree with you Irish... if something really was out there that helped sjogrens/dry eye more than 30% or so we wouldknow about it...  i dont feel like the regime im on helps more than that.... im sure others feel the same...

keep on praying/and hoping and dreamin..lol
