Hi,

When I woke up this morning and was bathing in the shower, I noticed my neck was sore when I tilted my head up to bathe.  It has been tender and sore to the touch all day.  It's literally right under my chin in the front.  Has anyone had this?  Is this just another  bizarre symptom of SJS or could this be Fibro? Plus, I've been having more headaches recently...they don't last long though, just a pain here and there.  It's just so frustrating!  I think I did too much this weekend and now I'm paying for it.  It's time to talk to the kids so they understand why I'm tired alot!

Please share your thoughts and ideas.

Thank you!

There are lymph nodes under the chin and all around the jaw. Also, there are some salivary glands under the chin and on both sides. Do a search for submandibular and sublingual salivary glands and see if you can find some images or pictures of their location and description of infection, etc. They will also get swollen and sore when they become engorged with the white cells or inflammation that is common with sjogrens. Good luck. Irish ;D

Thank you, Irish. It is still very sore and tender today. I will do some research at your suggestion. Is this something that will go away on its on or should I go see doc?
Thank you.

I get it every now and then and actually had it last week. It lasted about three days and went away. I also sometimes get really sore in my underarms. I think it usually means I am fighting off something.

I have this exact same thing. When I put my head right back it hurts under my jaw. I have been told that my glands are swollen under there, so that could be what's happening for you.

Hi matildamillicent,
that is exactly what it feels like. As i mentioned before, when i tilt my head back, it feels sore, tight and swollen and it is literally right under my chin. Today, i can actually feel a bump.....is this a lymph node? I guess we have SJS to thank for this, right?

Thank you for responding. I think it is actually getting better. Hopefuly it will be gone in anothet day or two.

I have had swelling, pain and a choking sensation on and off for3 years now. I am currently having a "flair up," and boy is it bad!  My swelling goes from my parotids (in front of both ears) all the way under my chin.  I am currently on a round of steroids for the swelling, but that makes me have MASSIVE reflux!  I wish you the best of luck and hope you can find something that works for you.
