The female / male differences

OK, quit laughing . . . yes, I DO know what the difference is between female and male!!   ;)

We all know that "men are from mars, women are from venus".

It amazes me some times in how we "think" differently about things.

For example:  I got a phone call this evening from our son (who is 2 hrs. away on an overnight tennis trip for the school), saying he lost his wallet.   :(  He was understandably upset.  I asked all the questions of, "when did you last have it?", "what all was in it?", etc.  I told him that I would call the bank to put a hold on the debit card, etc.  I asked if he called the two places they had been to - they had called the one restaurant, but not the tennis courts.  No luck at the restaurant.   :(  We talk some more and I tell him to try and not worry.

After I hang up with our son, I find the coach's cell number and call him.   I asked him to make sure that our son eats while they are there (knowing my son, he'll say, "I'm good" - and not eat, not wanting to put anyone out to pay for his food (which we would reimburse them when they get home).  Coach says, "no problem, we'll make sure he eats!".  Then I ask the coach, "is there any way you could go back to those two places TONIGHT and not tomorrow to look for the wallet?" . . he says, "yeah, I guess we could".   (They are driving the small, mini-bus from school.)

A little while later, the phone rings . . . it's our son.  They went back to the restaurant - the manager looks in the safe - there's our sons wallet!!   :)  :)  :)  (Whoever put it there, didn't tell others, so when he had called earlier, they didn't EVEN check the safe and said nothing was turned in.)   ???

Anyhow, the point being . . . . IF I hadn't called and talked to the coach and asked them to go look for it TONIGHT, they wouldn't have bothered looking until tomorrow.  It must be a female thing . . . when you lose something like a wallet, time is of the essence . . . you look for it AS SOON AS YOU REALIZE IT IS MISSING . . . you don't wait until tomorrow!  The coach hadn't even thought about going back out tonight to look for it.   :-\

Whew . . . both son and mom and dad are giving a big sigh of relief tonight!!   :)  Although, I'm sure I have several new gray hairs in the process!!

Wow. What a relief the wallet was found. I hate losing things.

I'm so glad everything worked out and I do believe you may be right about the male - female differences. My husband and son would have said  "Oh well. what is lost is lost.  Not me, I would have done the same thing as you.

We have a house in the neighborhood that is so-so. It really needs siding, etc. Well they recently built a new double stall garage with the room above it. It looks real nice and they bought a really nice grill they have sitting out.

Must be a guy thing to have a wonderful garage and a so-so house.
