evoxac and the 'urge' to go

Greetings to you wonderful people!

...so I started evoxac 4 dys ago - 30 mgs 3X.  It was because of this forum that I mentioned it to my rheumo.  He was rather reluctant and said "It will cause you to sweat".  I didn't fill the script for about a week. Oh well;  it IS causing some perspiration; however, it really does relieve the dryness (so far). I have now added baby powder to my purse contents.

He didn't mention anything about the urge to urinate (about every hour).  Does anyone have this problem?

I might go to 2X a day, - but, I'm thinkin' that I like this drug.

I do but my dr thinks it's related to something else.  I told him about the Evoxac but he didn't seem to think it would cause that.  Is your pee cloudy at all?  Could be a UTI that just coincidentally happened at the same time.  I've been on the Evoxac for over a month and a half.  Now I wonder if it IS the medication...

I find it is the type of drink that I am drinking that brings on the urge.  If I drink water I don't have it, but if I drink a soda I have it.  I have been on evoxac for 3 years and I wouldn't be able to go with out it.

Hi - thanks for your responses.

Today, I am being checked for a UTI, just in case (ugh). Also, another cystocopy is on July 11 - I'm fitting it in between family reunions:) I am so stressed about the family vacation - and I love my family.  It is getting harder to fake having energy and of course, I have always been the organizer, activity leader and head cook.  They know I am feeling 'puny' but still don't quite 'get it' (these are adult children , as well as young grandkids and naturally, I don't expect the g-kids to understand).

I am still liking the evoxac, but my eyes are getting drier, despite frequent drops.

I hope ya'll are having a good Thursday.

I read that one of side effects of evoxac was frequent urination.  But I think that anything that brings out moisture in our bodies would do that.  But after the body becomes accustom to the medicine maybe that constant urge will go away.  I stopped evoxac because I didn't think it was helping me enough with how much it cost even with insurance.  Also my drug store didn't keep it in stock and would order it and sometimes would not get all of what I needed in at one time.  So I would have to make several trips.  I'm doing fine without it.

Yes, Evoxac will make you feel like you have to go right now.  I had this problem expecially the first year on Evoxac.  I've been on Evoxac now for 5 years and most side effects have diminished.  For me Evoxac was so badly needed that I just put up with all the side effect and now they are not so prevalent.

Used to get the "have to go now" for the first month or so, but it diminished over the course of taking it.

Now to get rid of the sweating!  Dang, its almost as bad as having hot flashes again. ;) :D
