the company itself wont help me with evoxac since i have medicare in sept. even with the coverage gap... every pharmacy i call says there isnt a generic available.? i live in indiana... what can i do??? the evoxac is going to put me into the coverage gap within a few months and then my meds are mostly not covered at all...
i am 37.. anyone else go through this???

I can't remember when Evoxac will have a generic available, but maybe Salagen would be a better way to go until then.

I just found a chart that states that Evoxac should be avialable in a generic in December of this year, so you might be able to hang in there until it comes out.

This is very good news for me as well.  There is no way I could go with out this med.

This is good to me too, because after I retired, I lost my Evoxac, and have been on Pilocarpine.

I am in this and have to pay $$$$ for Evoxac and hope the December generic thing is real.  I cannot afford this drug and Lyrica, but they are the ones that help me the most.  We are on SS also.

SueAnn

eyeamdry,

Lyrica is not scheduled to come out in generic until 2019.  The dates are subject to change, but if you want the chart type in Medco Generic drugs release date in a search engine.  If you can not find it PM me and I will email it to you.

10 years ago I started on Salagen.

Switched early on to Evoxac, and took it until I went on Medicare.

Again, it was putting me into the GAP along with several other RX without generics.

So I went to Pilocarpine.

But now I'm not so sure it's cheaper.

However, the Pilocarpine (generic Salagen) is just as effective for ME as the Evoxac.

And interestingly, it isn't DIRT cheap, which is what you would expect with the generic.

Drug pricing is a mystery to me.

Keep us posted.

valene, I have never taken Pilocarpine, but you could do a search on the boards to see if someone has compared them.
