Hi Everyone,

I am loosing my hair color, from the plaquenil apparently. My hairdresser is not sure I should try dying it. Any ideas? My hair is very dry, (like the rest of my entire body) and I don't want to make it worse but it is bleaching out and while I am blonde, I was not platinum. :) Do any of you dye your hair and does it 'stick'?
Thanks!

I color my hair every five to six weeks and it "takes" just fine. It is drier than ever, though.

Losing your hair colour?!  Never heard of that one before, are you sure you're not just going grey? Some people can go grey very quickly.  If you were to colour it I would suggest a vegetable dye or henna in case of hair loss as that is what I am going to do.  I wouldn't trust chemicals on the head of someone with SS.

Hi, yes apparently it is a possible but uncommon side effect of Plaquenil. My doctor said I could stop but I need it. :( But good suggestion to not use chemical dye. Thanks

About a month ago, deeindiana posted a recipe for natural hair color that included chamomile, marigold flowers, and saffron which sounded promising.  Seems it would work well on light hair.

I have darker hair with gray and use an apple cider vinegar rinse to condition and give a little color.  It really helps with the dryness, too.
