I am so proud of myself

I usually am sleeping from 4 am ish to mid day and get dressed about 5 pm...for the past few years.  This morning, for some reason after I woke up and went to the bathroom, I couldn't go back to sleep and didn't seem tired.  I looked at the clock and realized I still had time to get dressed and over to my water aerobics without killing myself hurrying.  I got up and ate breakfast and dressed and got my gym bag ready.

I went an actually enjoyed the hour of gentle water exercise.  Monday is not one of the days I would normally go, so I didn't know anyone, but they are all older ladies like me.  Well...........you know.
I came home and felt great but tired.  I took a nap, which I normally nap all day but I was tired from one hour of exercise.  I slept/napped/rested for a couple of hours and got up and feel well.

Hopefully, this will give me the kick in the butt I need to really put in an effort to get moving.  I am rather proud of myself.  Tomorrow I am meeting a friend for lunch so I won't be able to sleep all day and will have to be up and out of the house, although not real early.  Good day all.  Lucy

Lucy, THAt is great that you were able to get up and about today. I have not been able to sleep during the days much since I have been off work. However, the past month or so I am just exhausted and want to sleep a lot. But, I don't let myself.

Where is there a happy medium??? When it changes to spring it does tend to make a person feel more like doing things though. Enjoy your luncheon date. Irish ;D

That's so great, Lucy!  It's a nice feeling to be tired after exercise, isn't it?

I love my water exercises with all the "old ladies" too.  Keep it up.  ;)

That is just wonderful Lucy, and it is a big step. If I am able to accomplish something on any given day, it always makes me feel better. Each day like you had is a blessing, and a special gift. I am proud of you!

I got up today about 10amish (and this is early for me).  Usually I would move to the couch and zonk back out for hours.  Well, I had a lunch date with a friend whom I've known for 50 years.  We met at 12:30 and had a real good gabfest.  I was so tired later, I had to come home and nap.

I don't mind having a nap in the afternoon if I can get up and stay up for awhile.  At least then I'm not sleeping all day and can't go to sleep at night.  The gal I had lunch with has lost her sister, her daughter and her husband to cancer all within the past 5 years.  She has taken over the care of grandchildren 14+20.  Before he died of colon cancer, her husband had his leg amputated because of blood clots and he lived for about 5 years with an amputation between the hip and knee.

Her daughter was 36 and died of pancreatic cancer.  The grandchildren's father had already died so she is sole caregiver of them.  The girl is 20 so she doesn't require much care.  The 14 y/o boy is having a whole bunch of emotional problems and she is having quite a time.  I hope our lunch gave her a break today.  I can't dare feel sorry for myself after seeing her and knowing all that has happened to her.  She has stood strong through the whole thing and I admire her.  I will call her sometimes and just chat and laugh about old times.  Lucy

Oh man, Lucy, That is just a terrible load that you friend is carrying. My heart goes out to the 14 year old son as everyone around him has died. He really needs some good support from maybe a church and some good men who could help him through these important years. He has so much he needs to learn from a man yet.

When you hear things like this we have to just not feel sorry for ourselves. I hope and pray that things ease up for this gal. I wish you the strength and endurance to support this friend during all this.

Enjoy the weather that is coming to you!!! The sun is shining again. Yeah! Irish

Where the heck is Plymouth, MI. Something in the news happened in this town and I just can't place where it is at. Over by Detroit??? ;D

Lucy,

You deserve to feel proud of yourself; getting to water exercise and lunch with a friend.  ;D ;)

Ah, the exercise...something my pcp just mentioned yesterday.  I think you and he have motivated me to try walking a bit more.  Sometimes it's so hard to get moving, but if I take my dog out for a short walk every morning, that will be a start, right?  Baby-steps.

Isn't it amazing what some people go through in their lives, like your friend, and are still so resiliant? I have an old friend like that and she is an inspiration to many.  I can't feel sorry for myself when I hear stories like hers, either.  What grief and burdens that lady has faced!
I'll join Irish in wishing you strength to support her, and motivation to keep going out and about.  ;)

Now, to get Myself out the door tomorrow!
