Anyone have a TEE heart test? just wondering because of our severe dryness in the esophagus etc?

I do fine with the gastro testing-upper GI, etc..but really concerned they might just go in there and rip my esophagus lining..they have
no clue just HOW dry we all are? My gastro was super cautious with me as well.  anything I should be prepared for? I go next week...yikkkkeeess

thanks

Yes, I have had this test.  Ask them to use extra caution due to your dryness...but they usually go about it in their usual way regardless of what you ask (in my experience).  I had some irritation in the throat & esophagus, but it was fine after a couple days.

The test is pretty easy since you'll be doped up and won't remember much if anything.  They also have results right then so you don't have to wait to find out if they found anything.

Please let us know how you do with it and what they find (hopefully nothing serious).

Im going to call tomorrow and go over some stuff...not sure what cardiologist will be performing my test either, since this new cardio doc doesnt do it. I also want to find out what they are sedating me with. I seem to do well with propanol, my GI doc gives me this before my colonoscopies, etc. and I  had no problems.  I had another GI doc years ago give me something else and I was kinda awake during testing and felt everything on my upper GI...it was horrible!  I dont care if I sound like a hypo, Im tired of hearing" Oh, were not sure why this happend"...or, "This has never happend before" (ha ha)..im sure alot of you have been in the same boat. I like to be prepared for any test or procedure.

Oh well..Im sure this is nothing..sure its all POTS related and everything else will be fine.

thanks

Is this where they check the back of your heart? Like for holes in the heart?
