question for Jazzlover and others.... yeast problem in stomach

holistic dr. told me if the acid problems do not clear up she is gonna treat with nystatin for yeast..

does yeast cuase burning /ulcer like syptoms? i was just endoscoped - saw no ulcer - neg on hpylori tho i am skeptical b/c dr didnt take me off previdid prior to scope- have read that can mess up the test.... anyhow, in nov burning stomach came on suddenly and now the burn is just in chest area and right under ribs....

I saw a post where jazzlover mentioned yeast..

any/all info is welcome!!!!

Yes! When I was scoped, my GI Dr was actually looking for yeast in my esophagus. I had just come off antibiotic treatment for a UTI and then I had severe burning in my stomach and esophagus.

He ordered the scope and gave me Mycelex lozenges for the supposed yeast. By the time I got to the scope the next week, I was much improved .. and the scope was clear.

Nystatin is more of a preventative, Diflucan is for killing yeast.
