I've been tested 4 times. The second and fourth (most recent) were low positive. 1.1 and 1.2 where 1.0 is positive for Sjogren's.  But this time my ANA came back positive for the first time, too.  Does this usually come up positive because the SSB is positive?  Could it be lupus and not Sjogren's?

Thanks~

The ANA is frequently positive in SjS and many other autoimmune diseases. My ANA was extremely high both times it was measured (greater than 1:1280) and I have not been diagnosed with Lupus, but with primary SjS.
SLE and SjS with PN. ANA >1:1280 speckled,
SS-A >8.0, RF positive. Botox for migraines, Clonazepam, Zoloft, Imitrex for migraines, CellCept 1000 mg, Plaquenil 200 mg, Restasis, Zofran for nausea, Gabapentin, Evoxac and Norco for pain.

shortstuff, I haven't seen anywhere that ANA is specific for one specific AID. It will chow up positive in AID---when it wants to. I went years with testing before it came up positive. I can convert back to negative any old time also.

Just don't let any doc tell you that when your ANA is negative later on you are cured! You aren't, blood work just likes to do its thing. If your symptoms are gone away or much less you are in remission. good luck. Irish ;D
