sea buckthorn caps update

Hey all.... well in just a few days of taking 2,00mg of sea buckthorn in the a.m. on an empty stomach i feel relief!!!! wooo hooo-
only bummer is at taking four caps a day to do the Dr Oz recommeded dosage it gets pretyy expensive- add that in to all the other supps i take.. cha ching... but if it helps....

now my ra hips have gone down the toilet- pain pain pain.... UH.... im wondering if its some of the herbs in my ulcer digestive enzyme are messing with the ra meds...- hopefully after the endo/colonoscopy ina few weeks we can see whats going on and i can get back to normal digestive enzymes but for now i have to play it safe on the tummy- still get burning from time to time... not evern 100% sure its an ulcer... gee, nothinglike waiting almost two months for a GI dr to check it out!!!

hello.
I see you have the same diagnosis as I. Is the sea buckthorne for the SS only? does it give relief to your mouth and eyes?
how does it differ from flaxseed oil or fish oil?

does your rheumatologist like alternative medicines? I am afraid to ask mine what he thinks of it. he is good but comes off stern and firm!

Yes - please tell us how you have improved! I ordered them, too, but just started three days ago. I can't swallow the capsules, so I open them up and stir them in a little warm water - then down the hatch!

Dryness, fatigue and pain are my primary, daily symptoms. Did it help any of those?

One of my rheumatologists is a D.O. and she recommended the Bio Tears Gel Caps to me.....many doctors use them out here for patients who had lasik surgery and end up very dry!!  I believe the gelcaps have helped with my mouth dryness.  I am currently backing off the sea buckthorn down to one per day as I think they make me go too much which dehydrates me.  Also, I was going to stop the gelcaps to take the sea buckthorn and I really don't want to do that so I'll take one of each daily!

to answer you guys... i have not had severe dry issues with my mouth until recently.... yes i noticed on  about day 3 of sea buckthorn that my mouth was beter. i still take evoxac in the am and at bed. do not take in the middle of day due to the icky sweats it gives you... hate that..

my eyes are about the same- im battling blepharitis right now- soemthingive had  for many years long beforfe sjogrens... fun

sea buckthorn is supposed to help all the mucosa lining in the body.... many say they se help with theri skin.... i thnk i may seem a slight improvemnt...

Valene, My mom has MGD with RA and secondary SJS.  I am sorry about all that you're going through.  My mom's MGD has been in remission and has been the least amount of trouble out of all the AI's however, in the beginning it was hard to get it in remission.  She had to go through plasma phoresis(sp?). 

Lori, you can get the Bio Tears gelcaps on Amazon.com.  and other stores Amazon recommends...you can find them from $28.00-$34.00....there's 120 and I take 2 per day so I don't think it's a bad price for two months worth!  I also take them with Centrum mini Omega 3 caps, 2x daily....no fish oil smell or taste....they are tiny caps.  My mouth was worse than my eyes and I think that's why I notice an improvement in my mouth dryness although I must say I'm not using eye drops throughout the day as I did in the summer.  I do seem to be worse in the summer.  I'm going to break open one of those sea buckthorn caps tonight and use it on my skin.  I'll keep you posted!

I pierced a sea buckthorn cap to use it on my face (they say you can do this) and it turned my skin orange??!!!  guess I'll just use it on my lips
