The skin biopsy came in yesterday, and it is "compatible with scleroderma".  So if there was any doubt before, there isn't now.  So in addition to being a "sjoggie", I am now officially also a "sclerodermian".  (It sounds like I'm important or something... ;D)

I think the rheumatologist thinks it's the CREST, or limited, variety, because it came on relatively slow (while the diffuse kind can be extremely rapid).  However, I read that skin involvement with CREST is usually confined to face, arms and hands, and legs.  I definitely have skin involvement on my chest, and possibly my stomach.

I guess I'll just bring it up with him the next time I see him.

I'm sorry to hear that Amberjolie, but I'm glad that you're finally getting some answers.

If it's CREST, has your rheumy said what treatment he will be prescribing for you?

Sending you some ( ( H U G S ) )  and hoping that the rest of the puzzle pieces fall into view soon.

Take care of yourself now....  And don't forget to keep us updated, okay?

I am going to really show my age on this one; As Roseanne Roseanna Danna used to say "If it's not one thing, it's another." (70's Saturday Night Live)

Maybe it's no time to be funny. I am so sorry, just thought I'd lighten the mood. We're all tired of the crap that seems to follow Sjs. I have IBS with mine. LOADS of fun there.

Please seek good care and control and let us know how you are.

God bless.

Amberjolie1....

What kind of doc did your biopsy? just curious? my derm doesnt do those? how did they do it?

So sorry about your diagnoses...at least you know, and can look into treatments for this. My doc thinks I have some CREST activity going on too. I went to the John Hopkins scleroderma center about 6 years ago, and they said I didnt have it, but possibility of developing it.
