Well I made it through the holidays and had a nice time with only some cold/sinus symptoms. I pushed and pushed and went to work after the holiday weekend only to run myself down more and more.

Today I just couldn't go into work and went to the doctor instead. He said my head/sinuses are clear and now it has settled in to my lungs and I have bronchitis. Great! So on a Z-pack I go.  :-\

Moral of the story....take good care of yourself BEFORE it gets to a point when you have totally run yourself down and made yourself sick...something I should know by now too.... ;)!

Zpacks are amazing!  Hopefully you'll be better before New Year's!

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be helping me....still not feeling well at all.....glands hurt.. head is congested again...have a terrible cough and lungs are very sore.

Just going to rest and finish my last 2 days of meds I guess and hope for the best....am going to my rheumy on Tuesday for a 6 month follow up....will have her listen to my lungs as well and then call my GP back if needed. Grrrrr...

It's an antibiotic (azithromycin). For mine you only take it for 5 days...two the first day then 1 for 4 days after...I believe it keeps working in your body even after you finish the medication. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that part please...

Yes - you take two pills the first and one pill each day after to finish. It is supposed to "linger" in you after you've finished.
Sometimes it is finding the right antibiotic for the right bug. The Z-pac just might have not done it for you and you need to take something else. Like Amoxicillian does nothing for me.

I can't take the Z-pac as it does a really bad number on my stomach. After running to the WalGreens about 1am for relief - I will never take that again! :'(  Glad you can take it.

Are you using the nettipot to flush your sinuses? That does help. Also the humidifier.
