At my last optometrist visit I was told I had really dry eyes and should think about going on Restasis. Well not four months later they were burning like crazy. Over the counter drops made it worse. So back to the eye doctor who said I have really no tears. I told him I thought it was odd that when I peeled an onion the other day my eyes burnt for ten minutes but didn't tear a drop. So I'm starting on Restasis and over the counter Systane and a gel at night. Seems to be working good so far.  One thing he told me to save some money is to put the used, open vial in a little cup standing up in the refrigerator. You should be able to reuse it once or twice instead of following the directions to throw it away. I go back in 3 weeks and I'll probably be getting plugs too. I'm getting sick of this crap!

Jenny,

Something that I learned just the other day (from this site) about reusing restasis is that you can push the little top back on so you can mix it up again.  I have been on it for a few years and never figured that one out.   That is why I love this site!  I learn something new all the time.

Jenny,

I'm glad the Restasis treatment is going well.  Sometimes when I use mine, it seems like my eyes soak it up immediately and thank me!  ;)

I know...it gets old with all the drops, drops, drops.  I try to remember it's much better than the pain and damage to my eyes without them.

Good luck; keep us posted.
