Now this is new and puzzling

I thought I had felt every kind of sensory neuropathy there is to feel, but this is new. About 10 hours ago, starting in my left middle finger, at the big knuckle, I saw and felt a funny sore bump, that gave off an ordinary sort of pain as I played with it, and moved it around. Then, about an hour later, I felt a sharp pinprick in the same knuckle. Another hour, and I had clusters of sharp pinpricks in the thenar eminence of my hand. (Can't remember a lot of things, but technical terms sometimes come through. "Thenar eminence" is the fleshy part of the palm side of the hand below the thumb.) Then I noticed a similar weird sensation in my left foot. Then a single pinprick here and there, elsewhere in my body, like my right foot, or left knww.

It does have the pattern of other kinds of neuropathic pain, but didn't respond to an extra amount of Neurontin/gabapentin.

Any ideas? WAGs (Wild A** Guesses) are acceptable, too. Does anyone know of two concurrent neuropathies inhabiting the same areas?

Thanks in advance,
