Just came back from Walmart & it's already crazy busy! I was trying to get things done ahead of time, but running out of steam fast.
Realized when I got home that I forgot to put several things on my list, so will need to go back.

Still got cleaning that needs to be done, but can't figure out what I need to start on, so just not getting anything done.
I don't know why, but I don't do well at all when I'm home alone. Can't think & can't get anything done.
Our daughter is due home in 3 hours & I wanted to have the house looking nice before she got here.

Guess I'll try a nap then see if I can get something done.

My daughter will help, just had planned to have more done before she got home. She's been working really hard in grad. school, so I wanted to have things nice for her.

This is all just new to me. I was in worse shape last year during the holidays, but didn't know what was wrong with me yet.
This year I'm feeling much better, but still do not have stamina like I used to. My want to do list is longer than my able to do list.

Looking at my friends' Facebook comments about being finished with Christmas decorating, then looking at my house that still needs cleaning before I can even think about getting Christmas decorations out of the attic.

Just have to learn how to take it a day at a time.

Hi MiJoy

Daughters have a way of understanding Mum,your health is far more important than cleaning,as cleaning will always be there and will never go away. I too have a problem with learning how to pace myself.Be kind to yourself

MiJoy - isn't it frustrating when you come back from somewhere and remember what you forgot to get?   ::)  I do that . . . grrrrrrr.

You can't compare yourself to others - they don't walk in your shoes.  Just do what you can do, and call it good.   :)

Enjoy your visit with your daughter.  I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping you and then you can "talk" and catch up on what's going on with her while working on things together.

Time has a habit of sneaking up on us - we turn around and wonder where the time has gone?  This year has just flown by, enjoy the moment and having your kids home for the holidays.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging advice.

Thankfully, I'm feeling much better this morning! Even got a little more cleaning done. I was worried last night that a flare was coming. Sure didn't want that for the holidays!

Going with my hubbie to Atlanta (90 min. drive) in a little while to pick up our son who is flying in from college. Then we'll have all the fledglings in the nest for a few days.
Yes, time does go by way too fast, doesn't it? Our son will turn 20 on Saturday & our daughter will be 25 in January. Whoa, that sounds so old!!

Thank you for helping me to remember to focus on what's really important, NOT a perfect house, but a warm & loving HOME.

Love & blessings to all of you,
Joy =)

Mijoy, Sounds like a good time to have the kids home for the holidays. BAck in days that our kids came home it also brought out the kids they graduated with. Boys sitting around talking or hanging outside in the shed working on cars--as usual.

Our kids can drive us crazy (and we drive them crazy also) but they are the light of our lives, aren't they?? What would we do without them? They are what we think about all of our life--even in our sunset years when they are getting older.

I find myself thinking that the kids shouldn't be working so hard in the heat, etc. They are balding and getting older. They are as old as I was when they graduated and that is such a shock cause I can't hardly remember those days anymore.

All of you with the kids coming home have a good holiday season and enjoy them. Life is short. If the kids can't get home then just enjoy the day anyway. Do something special with friends or even special for yourself.

Say, if you are really bored you can go shopping on Thanksgiving now!!! Now doesn't that sound like fun??? IRish ;D
