Waiting to hear results interpretation ... need a virtual hug

I think it's dreadful that blood test results are made available on-line BEFORE the patient has met with the doctor. It's a wonderful resource to have AFTER you've had it all explained

What kind of heartless, inhumane system is this? If g-d forbid we are to get bad news, it must be done face to face by a medical professional who can answer our questions and calm our fears.

Has anyone here ever found out they had a bad health situation by checking on-line results?

Still waiting to hear from my rheumy- it may be that she doesn't even have the info yet! She's not in my primary medical facility. Did leave a message, but we'll see. If I don't hear from her today, I won't hear anything til next week.

Yikes! Ah well, at least I'll have lots of excellent distractions over the next few days - Thanksgiving, a visit with friends, and my daughter coming to visit.
