Saw a ghost last night

Saw a REAL ghost last night.  Not a trick or treater.  But a real ghost in my living room.  The house is haunted so it's not a big surprise.  Things move and we hear footsteps and everything ...  But this was the first apparition (not just a shadow person crossing in front of a light).   

Not surprised to see it but having it show itself on Halloween???
That's kinda cliche on the part of the ghost.

There are more than one ghost in the house.  They aren't evil ... walls don't bleed ... but they are very curious about everything. 

Weve had the place blessed.  I smudge sometimes.  That helps keep 'em quiet for a few months but then they get active again. 

Right now we are living with 'em.  They aren't creepy and they aren't evil ... they are just people without bodies ... so we are leaving it all as it is so it doesn't turn yukky.

What did your ghost look like?

This one ....  I was in the living room watching TV.  We have a full length glass door near the TV onto the back porch.  It was black out so the room was reflecting on the door windows.  I saw the reflection of 'it' walk in the living room past the doors.  The room itself was empty, but the spook's reflection was in the door window.  I got up and checked outside just to make sure no one was there.  The spook was wearing green pants like hospital scrubs.  The top half wasn't as clear as the bottom half.  So i can't tell if it was a girl or guy.  But it was an adult.

It wasn't from the TV.  It wasn't car lights.  It was definately a reflection of a spook in the room that I couldn't see. 

Friend of mine had something simular happen while working at an airport.  (Bradley Air Port in Windsor Locks CT).  He worked at the airport and was standing in one of the lobbies.  He could see the inside and the people reflected in the glass.  In the reflection was an old fisherman guy standing next to him.  But of course there wasn't a fisherman standing next to him .... but he was in the glass reflection.

I've always lived in haunted houses.  I'm thinking EVERY place is haunted it's just a matter of if they are active or not ... or if somehow the living feed them so they get that way ... Dunno.  But they are everywhere.  This house is the most active we've been in.  Built in 1950.  Near the road that the Brits and Yanks used during the Revolutionary war ... the road was used on the way to and from a big battle here.  Encampments could have been here.  Indians could have been here.  Could be just about anyone.

- Footsteps up and down the stairs.  You can even hear the banister moan as some adult leans on it while they go up and down.  Usually at 1:35 in the morning someone 'comes home' ... goes into the coat closet downstairs .. then comes upstairs and goes from room to room.

- The dogs squeeky toys downstairs will squeek and honk by themselves in the middle of the night .. even though we are all in bed, including the dog who sleeps with me.

- We have a doggie gate up across the stairs so the dog won't go up and down (bad hip).  Three or four times the spook has run into the gate in the middle of the night.  I get up and look ... the gate is right outside my door ... no one is there and everyone is in bed asleep.  makes an awful racket when that happens.  The gate looks unmoved but it sounds like it's crashing like someone has just ran into it.

- Someone etherial would play with my daughters toys at night.  I'd hear the view master clicking away even though it had been left in my room and everyone was in bed.

- Jewlery on my dresser rattles and moves ... the vitamin bottles downstairs on the dining room table rattle loudly even though no one is in the room .. you hear the kitchen cabinets and drawers opening and closing like someone is looking for something but of course no living people are in the room.  Sometimes we hear music far off ... or a TV far off ... or a conversation far off .... but all in the house and it seems to move from one room to the other.

- been poked a few times.  have someone sit on the bed while sleeping a bunch of times.  had the tv in my daughters room come on by itself at 2AM.  (she was asleep ... really asleep)

- phantom cigarette smoke smell.

(we've been here 11 years and we don't smoke.  The rugs were changed out and the wall paper taken down.  All walls have been repainted.  The entire kitchen was redone ... so I don't think there is anyplace left for leftover cigarette smoke from the 1960's or 1970's to be hanging out).

I love stories like this, I bought a digital recorder and thought about where to take it,, so off to a cemetary that has been there since the 17,hundreds,, some of the stones are in the woods,, growed over,, fallen over,, faded to nothing,, so I left it near a headstone,, asked a few queestions,, left it there running and went back a few hours later,, Imagine my suprise when I listened to it,, I HEARD,,,,, a guy yelllig at his dog,, cars going by,, guy still screaming at his dog,, more cars going by,, a train about a mile away,, so my first experience was a bust, not a ghost buster,,

They are from Rhode Island.  A 6 hour hike.  I used to watch that show all the time. But then I found a few things 'off' .... trickery .... so I question the validity of their finds now.  The fun is gone.

I stayed at their hotel - the Spalding Inn - in New Hampshire.  It was awesomely beautiful and peaceful.  Not a ghost in sight .... which is fine.  We have our own spooks and we didn't go there to see theirs.  We went for the country setting.  Old New England.  NICE.
