Thanks for the wonderful story Meld!  Congratulations on becoming a Grandma!  Reading your posts inspire me and I'm learning that others are leading "normal lives" despite their diagnoses and symptoms.  I'm glad you got to be with your family.....Dad sounds like a hoot!

Meld, So glad you shared your trip with us. You do write such good letters to us.

So glad that your daughter, hubby and baby are doing well. You will be on the phone a lot til that baby comes---and then afterwards as well. Maybe you can swing a trip and stay for a few days after the event. The due date should put you in good weather for a trip I would think.

Also, I am so glad you had such a nice visit with your Dad. You are right about the old folks. I loved working with them for years. They can run the staff ragged, but there are so many moments that are priceless. They know so much and can tell such good stories.

They also are the survivors of some pretty tough times and they did really good. They were all survivors and tough as nails. Also, many of them did have a good sense of humor---they had to to live through those past years. Your dad sounds like a gem---95 years is a long, long time. WOW!

I am glad that your trip was uneventful but I am willing to bet that when you get home and walk through the garage door the adrenalin will stop flowing and the starch will go out of you. Head for the couch then girl and take a nap. Irish ;D

Thanks, Jill.   ;) I am living a bit more "normally" in the last months, thanks to good meds, less stress, and good friends here and my family.

irish,
I'm glad you enjoyed my "epic." Yes, getting more calls from our daughter.  Poor girl has morning sickness now at 10 weeks that lasts all day, but she's taking it in stride.

She's so cute; telling us this week the baby is big as a plum.  Before they were an "olive", a "strawberry", etc.

Baby is due about the first week of May, so that will be good "traveling weather" and I plan to be there!  ;D

My Dad is priceless, and a survivor.  Just last Oct. he was hospitalized for pnuemonia.  His doctor called me saying he really didn't think he'd make it through, but remarkably he did. He's the last one alive in his family of 16 children!

I got home last Thursday evening, but even though I wasn't totally whipped, I've been tired all week.  But it was very worth it!

That's funny about the "plum".  That's what my hubby called our son when he was in the womb . . . "hi plum, this is Daddy!".  Ahhh, I remember that time fondly.   :)

Wow!  16 children!!  Back then, they certainly had large families. My Dad is one of 12.
