Hi everyone!

I originally joined this forum back in 2007. I lost touch after a little while and managed to forget my log in info etc, so I have rejoined. :-)

A little about me...I am a 25 yr old SAHM of 3 children, two daughters 8 & 4, and a 9mo old son. I'm married to a wonderful, supportive guy too! I was dx with Sjs in 2006 when I was pregnant with my 4 yr old. She has Fetal Heart Block as a result from my Sjs. I was always tired, but didn't have any symptoms until 07, when my parotid glands started to swell. Things calmed down for a few years and then the last year my symptoms have kind of kicked it into high gear. My dry eyes and mouth have gotten worse. In June, I got an ear infection and cold at once, and me parotid glands swelled on both sides. I looked like a chipmunk. It finally went away, but my energy level is so low most days. I do have to say a lot of it is having a 9mo old and I'm still breastfeeding, but some days I don't want to get off the couch.

I just started going to a rheumatologist again. He gave me a prescription for my dry mouth that starts with a P (I'll have to get back to you on that one) but my insurance wouldn't cover it, and it.        costed over $133 so I did not get it filled. I also complained of my fatigue, so he gave me a sample scrip of Savella, which is a fibro medicine. I found out I can't take it breastfeeding, so I will have to wait a few months to take it.

I go to my primary doctor Tuesday, and will get the results of a bunch of lab work she had done. Then next week I go back to my rheumy, and he will most likely send me for additional bloodwork.

Anyway, I look forward to getting back in touch with you all!

Also, sorry for any typos...on my android and it likes to autocorrect my words sometimes.

Hi Stephanie - welcome back!  :)

Congratulations on your newest addition to the family.  I'm sure a 9 mo. old keeps you busy - and also contributes to your tiredness.  If possible, sneak in a nap for Mom when the baby takes a nap and maybe the 4 yr. old can nap too.  As a SAHM I'm sure you try to get things done around the home when the baby is sleeping (been there, done that) . . . but, having Sjogren's, you need to keep your energy up too - and take care of you.

Good luck with your upcoming doctor appointments.

Our search box to the top right of this page is handy when you have questions about certain drugs prescribed or symptoms or whatever.  Just put in the word(s) you are interested in, and it will bring up previous threads related to it.

We also have the weekly live chats too . . . our schedule can be found on our home page.

Again, welcome back . . . as you can see, we've had a LOT of new faces around here.

Hi Stephanie,

Welcome back and congratulations from me too!  You must be so exhausted with the little ones and I have no idea how you're managing it all!

Good luck at the doctors on Tuesday!  Can you call your doctor to see if he'll write a script for a med that your insurance will cover?

Take care and hang in there -

Or, maybe your doc can write a generic RX for your mouth dryness.

If your P word is for pilocarphine; that is already the generic for Salagen.

Then, do what Patze suggests.

Good luck tomorrow at docs appt.
