What a great group of people!  and some really wonderful ideas.

Sunnybunny,
I was thinking about your spending large amounts on health insurance. I am facing loosing my health insurance as I am having to cut back on work to help with feeling better I found that I can get on with the clinic, which isn't as good as my regular dr but will work for now as long as I keep my Rheumy. With the clinic the fee is based on income. I can get by paying $15 per visit and get my RX at reduced pharmacy's, pay my Rheumy his cash discount price and still come out cheaper than paying for my health insurance. The downside is we are buying our house so we are running a risk but we really don't have a choice right now. You may be able to get medicaid for your child, it is alot easier to get for them than for adults.

You mentioned being to sick to attend church and I understand feeling that way. There are alot of churches that will help people without them being members or attending as they have either food banks or emergency assistance programs for the general public if they seek it.

I feel for you and your family, my family has had hard times this last year also and now my health is making me reduce my hours. What will be will be and all we can do is the best that we can.

I am also a thrift shop queen, thankfully with the type of work I do I learn the good spots. I am even thinking about buying things at the thrift shop and reselling them to make a little money. I am a big recycler  and I am always looking for things that can be reused or resold. Apartment trash areas are great areas to find items people just want to get rid of but are good enough to sell. Of course when you feel horrible its hard to be motivated and all this requires energy. But it might be a way for you to earn extra money when you feel you have a little energy.

Sending you good Vibes,
Kimber

well heres an update.
I contacted my local church for assistance.
They told me they are flooded with calls for people in need, and they have
no more resources this week, hopefully next week.

She did offer to come for food assistance on the designated days.

It was suggested by her also to call other agencies
red cross-salvation army-etc
all of them are surely swamped with people just like, and worse off than me.

i still have alot of calls to make, but nothings come through so far.

I'm finding this soo hard to swallow :-[
I have always donated all sorts of ways in my life when i was doing better financially.
Right now i'm trying not to get out of hand and get a bad attitude.

I know that there are no sure things,no entitlements in this world.

I also know that it is wrong to expect that just because you 'give' that
it doesnt mean you will 'receive' in return and i have never 'given' for that reason.

This situation i'm in is putting my level of dignity to the test.
I know in my heart there is no shame in needing a little help.
I'm not too proud or vain to ask for help, but at this stage of the game
i'm just feeling like my faith, and self worth as a human being is in the toilet. :'(

when the church cant even really help you it's pretty darn discouraging.
I do feel ashamed that i'm getting so frustrated with finding solutions to all of this.
i know the world is full of kind souls out there to help, but i'm feeling like I must be invisible.
like-when is something going to ease up, and how will i be rescued from all of these problems.
the crazy part of my anxiety makes me question sometimes if i'm being punished with all these
walls that are coming up in my life. :-\
now i've got some guilt thrown into the despair and hopelessness. :-[

This is doing wonders for my stress and flair ups as you can imagine.

I feel like the sky is falling, and at any minute it's all going to go to he**.

i NEVER have been the type to sit and make a 'pity party' but
well...reading my own comments i think 'why the heck are you telling all this
to everyone? like anybody wants to hear it when they have their own troubles.

that light at the end of the tunnel is feeling like an oncoming train :o

Sunnybunny,

I know how it feels to be totally overwhelmed....Ya just have to remember "This too will pass"  and it will. It always does! It seems like right now with the added pressures of the economy and rising prices it is much harder. My mom used to say "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" Maybe all us who are going through this will end up superhero's!!!

Hugs and Best Wishes,
Kimber

thanks waterbby

I'm sometimes a little too honest
and wear it all out there, for everyone to see.

I hope i dont bring anyone down  :-\

sunnybunny,

This is a good place to come for support and encouragement. You know many of us understand! I surely do... :)

I know this must be hard to swallow. Last summer I went to the agencies, churches and did receive some help with the food bank, which was wonderful, but for some agencies we weren't in dire straits enough for them to help.  Which meant we weren't out on the street yet. I know how frustrating it is!

Please keep hanging in there.  I also felt so much guilt thinking my illness and not being able to work had put us in such an awful financial situation. My husband was working so hard and we couldn't stay afloat.

Remember, it's not your fault that you are ill.  You've done nothing to deserve this.  You are still the same kind and giving person you've always been.
It seems as if you are really overwhelmed right now (which is totally understandable.)  Have you considered talking with your doctor about possibly a counseling session or two that might help with the despair that you're feeling?  Just a thought to consider...like you say, when we are stressed, we are in more pain, then more pain brings stress; it's a never-ending cycle.  Maybe talking with a pro would help a bit.

We are here for you.  I hope and pray your hearing comes soon. And don't worry; we are always, always here to listen.  :D
Blessings,
Melinda
