I had good news and not so good news today. Good news is I do not have a Tumor of my Lymph Glands the bad news is I have a Salivary Gland that is hard and painful. ENT Dr. put me on antibiotics again, this is my third round for this gland issue, hopefully it will help rid me of the pain and fatigue.

The Question is how many of us have had Salivary Gland issues? The ENT made it sound like I was a strange puppy and my GP said I was an Enigma. When I come here and see most everyone has similar problems I feel normal...Thank God! The ENT is going to coordinate with my Rheumy to see if I need a stronger DMARD I take Plaquinil now. What has helped you folks? Is this just another one of those things that I will have to learn to get used to?

Sometimes I swear I don't want to see Doctors anymore!!! I get so tired of feeling like I am being ridiculed. I noticed on my GP's notes that he had sent he mentioned that I report being Fatigued but that I didn't look tired or sick! I thought well that is good but how do you know how I feel, then I thought your not even taking me seriously are you? This is a Doctor I thought I liked!! GRRRRRRR!

Hi water,
I had a salivary gland infection only once so far( knock on wood) and it was years before my actual diagnosis, but I remember how painful it was. The doctor put me on antibiotics and told me to drink grapefruit juice. It cleared up and that was that.

But I have read so many people here with salivary gland issues, hopefully some of them will respond to your post. You could probably go into the search section and check old posts fo salivary gland infection

Jellyb,

Thanks for the info on Grapefruit juice I will get some. I did try sour candy but it didn't seem to do much good. I will look in the old articles also.

The tones that I use are from Hulda Clark and attack the bacteria. You would need a frequency generator to use them.

Hi my salivary glands go hard and very painful almost weekly sometimes 3-4 time a week this is why i got sent to an oral surgeon and eventually after more tests got diagnosed. I have problems with mine but no one has said they are infected so i have never had anti biotics. I have been told that because they are inflamed they are not working properly and the hard painful lumps is saliva backing up. After a couple of days for me it eases then comes back in a few days. Just been told to take pain relief and heat. For me this is my worst symptom as it really hurts to eat.

Hi
I have swollen and sometimes very painful salivary glands. Saliva is being blocked in the ducts and builds up. The answer I find is to massage the gland (just under the ear) until it suddenly empties and then....relief ! Hope it works for you.

Thanks for all the idea's. Joe I looked at the web site and think it is really cool. I will have to do more research on it and see about the electric machine. My husband and I both do Reiki so we are open to alternative idea's. I have been trying to massage the gland but it is up into my jawline by my throat. If I push on my throat I can get it but it doesn't seem to do much good. I definately will check on the Tonations. I used to go to a guy who did electric therapy to my ear lobes and I loved it! :D
