Rash

Yesterday I started itching on the center of my upper chest below my neck. Now it is red, itching, with tiny bumps making a rash. I have no clue what could have caused it. Do any of you have any thoughts?

I had a red rash with little bumps that went from just below my ears and down the sides of my throat. It went into the hollow part of my throat and onto the middle of my chest. For months I couldn't figure out what it was and then one day I was in the shower and rinsing the shampoo out my hair I realized the suds were running down the exact path of the rash. Two weeks ago I changed shampoo and the rash has almost disappeared.

Another time I had a rash in the middle of my chest just below my throat. It turned out to be the lotion I was using. I used it on my face and neck but only broke out on my chest. Sometimes the weirdest things can happen.

Eileen I agree about how the weirdest things happen. I keep trying to think of something different I touched or put on, but can't remember anything yet.

Susan, It could be a rash compliments of your lupus. Rashes and other skin issues are so hard to track and pin down. Mostly they seem to come when they want to and leave when they want to. Sometimes we are lucky and get medication that helps.

Have you started any new medications??? My DH suffered for many months a couple years ago with a rash all over his body. He was beyond miserable and living on antihistamine pills. We stopped so many of his medications to see if they were the culprit.

One day I read something on the Spireva and told him we need to stop that one. We had totally forgotten about his inhalers. Stopped the Spireva and in 5 days his rash was gone. We get so used to taking medications and doing things just one way that it is like we can't see the trees for the forest. Hope you can find the culprit.

irish, I thought about the lupus, because I am not use to what all happens with it. I have not taken any new meds so I can't understand that one. It's possible I touched something outside, and don't remember. I do live in the forest with lots of trees.

Have you been out in the sun? I always get a very itchy rash from the sun. It often lasts for several days.

I had red blisters on my legs, arms and mouth.  Went to a rheumatologist who told me he can't fit me into any diagnosis.  Saw a dermatologist who diagnosed it as erythema multiforme- most likely drug induced. 

So now I am on a non- allergenic diet- no gluten, azo dyes, salicylates- feels energenic, and does keep the skin rash calm.

How about seeing a good dermatologist - I like mine.
