First time posting

Hi, all,
Just wanted to introduce myself.  Just last year, I was diagnosed with Sjogren's.  The only reason that I even knew to pursue an answer to why my eyes were so dry and my mouth always seemed so dry was because my father was diagnosed with Sjogren's late in life.  I was told I was "young" to have Sjogren's (I just turned 30...) but I finally stopped listening to my GP and purused a rheumatologist on the advice of my reproductive endocrinologist.  Turns out that I have Sjogren's and Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (which explained my recurrent pregnancy losses from about 6 weeks pregnant to a still born child...) 

I found this place when I did a google search on Sjogren's and lactose intolerance...which I am pretty sure that I am (and it is getting worse).  The more that I learn about Sjogren's, the more it explains EVERYTHING that had been dismissed by other doctors as stress and/or depression and/or something else.  It is just tying it all together for me...

I look forward to learning more and getting to know everyone!  Bear with me as I learn to use these forums!

I have 2 lambs on my mantle that represent, our loss.
One for my daughter Laurie, who miscarried at 8 wks. (about 3 years ago)
One for my daughter Lindsey, who had still born last July.
I understand your loss. I am so sorry.
I hope you find answers to many questions here.
I know my own daughters probably wonder, of the genetics. My mother was DX with RA at the age of 29.
When I tested with RA factor positive in 2007, with further testing I was DX with SJS.
By using the search button, you can find specific answers to specific questions.
I received incredible encouragements, in my beginnings here.

Both of my daughters are expecting again. In August and October. I choose to think very positive for them, even though I know they are fearful. So understandable.

Every one here has varying health issue and levels of involvement.

I feel fortunate in being a low maintenance sjoggie.

I'm sorry that we have to meet this way, but I sure am glad that you've found us!

I'm sad to say that a lot of members can tell you stories about their symptoms being ignored, and some of them for many years before getting an answer.  It nuts.

Losing a pregnancy is very heart breaking, and sending you a very fluffy

Welcome to Sjogren's world.

There seems to be a medical misconception as to when SjS can strike. We have had the mother of a 4 year old with SjS in here. (The 4 yr old - not the Mom) Many people get dxd in their 50s having spent 20 years or so trying to find out what's up! I'm sorry to hear you also have Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome and am sorry for your losses.

I hope you find the site useful. It's certainly friendly and supportive.

        Welcome to the Boards.  People here have been so supportive here. It's a good place to cope with how pSS can affect things.  I hope that the treatments they start you on are helpful. It can be very frustrating to have thins happen and not have Dr.'s understand.
I am so sorry to hear about your little lambs.  I like the others am sending big hugs - as many as you can handle.

Welcome to the forum! 

We have people here diagnosed from many different ages; this thing seems to have no compassion as to how young or old you are. That said, I hope you are finding answers as to why you've had many symptoms. It helps to know why...as you say, sometimes it just all starts making sense and tying together. There is also hope that you can feel better and have a good quality of life.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your children. I have experienced being a grandparent grieving a child, but not a parent, and I understand I have no idea how difficult it must be for you. My heart goes out to you.

Give yourself time to learn here. It's a great place for questions, sharing and comfort. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the Group!
I wondered about being Lactose intolerant to.  But with me, it was my medicines that destroyed the "good germs" in my tummy.  I am taking Floragen 3 which is a probiotic that you keep in the fridge. It has really helped my stomach upsets.
Most of us don't think that medicines would affect us certain ways but they can!  I would check into what meds you are taking, allergies and possible side effects of it.
