Hi  :)

I'm not sure how much I'll be on the boards for the next couple of weeks because later today (as it's after midnight now) I set off for the US to visit my son and to meet my nearly 7 month old grandson for the first time.

I'm dreading the trip but looking forward to the visit.

I thought about taking my laptop but it's not a small one and is quite heavy so I think I'll leave it at home. I'm not sure where my son keeps his computer but if it's accessible I'll look in from time to time.

Tonight I've resolved not to sleep. That way I'll sleep on the plane hopefully and the long haul will feel shorter. Worked last time anyway.

Have a nice spring break everyone!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Scottie - whew, I can't imagine a 17 hr. journey all at one time.   :o

I hope the flight time goes by quickly and you are able to catch some zzzzzzz's along the way to make the time go faster.  Don't forget your ear plugs!!

Enjoy your visit with family here in the U.S. and your break from work.   :D

Hoping that your journey is going well!

We will be here to hear all about your trip and that grandson of yours when you return all safe and sound!

Scottie, hope the trip goes well and that you have good health while you are there. Keep moving and drink plenty of fluids on the flight to prevent blood clots in the legs. Also, I have heard that many people take one regular aspirin before they fly to thin the blood a little. Probably a good idea if one is not allergic.

Hug and kiss that baby cause they grow so fast. Irish ;D

Oh dear Scottie . . . what a welcome you will receive today in the states!!   :o  There is some nasty weather moving across the Midwest - and I'm afraid, you will be right in the middle of it all!!   :(

I don't know if you have storms like this where you live, but they seem to be more, and more frequent here in the U.S.

Please stay safe and I hope it doesn't scare you too much.

You'll get a first person account of what you hear us talk about concerning our weather.

Take care,
Bucky

Hi everyone  :)

Just in quickly on DIl's computer to catch up with things!

The journey was longer than 17 hours - it was more like 22!! was pleased hubby was there! It's prolly just as well because it means I'm going to bed earlier than I ever have before which fits in with the rotine here better.

The baby is very friendly and came straight to us which was lovely. In the few days we've been here he's learnt to crawl and today he pulled himself up on his feet while holding onto a box. Nobody was expecting it. He was 7 months yesterday. He's a big baby!

I'll post some photos when I get home.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Scottie

It's great to hear that you've arrived safely.  I can well imagine how exhausted you were, but I'm glad your 'odd' sleeping pattern means you've adjusted well to the time change.

How lovely that he came to you at once!  Is he like any of your children as babies? Or more like his mum?  Can't wait to see the photos.

Have a wonderful trip.

Take care - Chickpea

Oh, Scottie, he is a fast learner!  It's neat that he learned new tricks with you and Grandpa as an audience.   I hope you are taking lots of pictures!  :)
