Scottietottie

hi  :)

Yesterday was my only grandson's first birthday. Thanks to the www we were able to join his b'day party. He lives in MO and I live in England. It was great seeing him opening his presents and re-meeting his other grandparents and aunt and cousins.

We thought we were going to miss it because my son's laptop has gone on the blink but my daughter in law arranged for her sister to bring her laptop over so we didn't meet a thing.

The boy was NOT impressed with birthday cake! He much preferred several bite size portions of water melon and canteloupe. I can't believe it's a whole year since he was born.

Happy First Birthday to your precious grandson Scottie! So happy to hear that you were able to join in the party from your house!

So many people talk of the bad things associated with modern technology and the internet (and yes...we do have to be careful and monitor children's use of course just as in anything else)...but this is a prime example of the many many good things that can come from it! This would have never been possible years ago and I'm glad that you were able to "be there" and see him open his presents and meet the other side of the family! How fun!!!

Scottie, I can't believe that your little grandson is already a year old. Where does the time go? I'm glad you were able to joi in his party.

Scottie - that's wonderful that Grandma & Grandpa could join in the birthday celebration "across the miles".   Even though it's not the same as actually being there in person, it's the next best thing.   :D

Wow - it doesn't seem possible that your Grandson is a year old already!!  That time went by quickly.

Good for your grandson that he prefers fruit over the sweets.

Did you eat some cake to celebrate the occasion?!?   ;)

Scottie,

Isn't that fantastic that you could join in with your dear little grandson's party?  I'm so happy for you!  ;)  I'm sure it seems like such a short time and now he's 1 year old already.

Yes, our technology today can make some great memories.  Happy Birthday to the little man. :)
