Hand/thumb tremor

For the past 3 or 4 days, I have had a "twitch" in my right thumb.  It involves the knuckle that attaches to the hand.  It will start twitching and maybe do it 2 or 3 times, or go for a couple of minutes.  At night, I try and tuck it under my pillow to stop the movement if I can. Usually by the time I move several times, I'm asleep.

I remember Michael J. Fox saying his Parkinson's started with a "twitch of his pinkie finger."  It has probably been 15 years since I heard that and I can't say how quickly I remembered it.  I started on prednisone for a burst/taper (start 10 mg) but I just started today and that is not it.  I have no other medicines I started just recently.  I take methotrexate, Lyrica, plaquenil, exovac, thyroid, nexium and that's about it.  I need to go to bed now and I am going to tape the darn finger down tonight.  Lucy

Have you tried gentle range of motion  and stretching like reaching over to your pinkie and making circles? Maybe it is a bit of a muscular/tendon tightness or tension?  Hope you get a good nights sleep.

Ive had twitches all over my body......I dont think its uncommon with any autoimmune condition. I would def mention it to the doc
though. Prob this cold, cold Michigan weather!!!

I had that, but it stopped a couple of months ago after I lost my job.  I'm wondering if using the mouse as often as I did was involved somehow.  But I didn't have those twitches before developing other symptoms of Sjogren's, so I think it's somehow still involved.

Do you do a lot of computer work?

I will try some gentle stretching exercises and see how this works out.  I am not too concerned about a twitching thumb, but if it gets worse..well could be important.  Awhile ago I was put on Wellbutrin and after a little while, I began to have jerks all over.  My PA told me to take magnesium or some darn thing.  I just quit the Wellbutrin and the jerking and twitching stopped.  Lucy

I got twitches of my eyes, arms, legs an fingers.  I keep showing the doctors and they have no idea. B12?

Mine did that. Made writing and eating soup with a spoon problematic. Don't know why but it went away followed by my other major neuro symptoms. Wishing you a similar resolution.
