SLEEPY101

Anyone else have this. I lay down to go to sleep and my body have a mind of it's own. My whole body starts jumping around. I legs, arms, I have a hard time falling asleep. They are very powerful tremors.

I had this for about six months. My shoulder, chest, and legs would start spasming all at the same time. I jokingly called it 'Dueling Banjos'. For unknown reasons it eventually calmed down as did the spasms in my face. All that remains is a small spasm, more of a twitch, in the shoulder from time to time. I'm not sure what's responsible for the improvement. I took lots of vitamin B12 as it is a material the body uses to repair nerves. Could just be a coincidence. If you're like I was, taking lots of antacids due to stomach issues, be aware they can cause a shortage of B12. Whatever the cause without enough B12 the body can't repair the damage fast enough. I hope you feel better soon as I know it's distracting and distressing.
Dxed unspecific 'sicca syndrome' eyes and mouth. Neuro issues, muscle weakness. SS Seronegative but high inflammatory markers. Diabetes dx 2010. Glucose control improved neuromuscular issues. Enlarged thyroid under observation 2013. Yippee.

Hi Sleepy,

I experience my worst leg and arm vibrations when I first lay down at night.  Sometimes it stops after 30 minutes and other times it goes on all night. I've had to sleep with my feet planted firmly on the mattress just to get a little relief.

I think for me, they are always vibrating to one degree or another, but when I am at rest I am acutely aware of it.  But whatever it is, it can be very annoying and exhausting.  ;)

I also get them if I am at a stop light or sitting still. Neuro has looked at this and so has pulm.  I take B12 and they are still here.

I don't get tremors.
But, when I lay down to go to sleep, my entire body gets hot and it is nauseating, stifling  to the point that I dread going to bed.
It lasts for only 10 minutes, and it is not a hot flash.. ;)
Maybe something with blood pressure?
I just realized that I have been taking night time meds, earlier and it is not as bad.
