Oh Bucky, you are making me hungry lol!
And don't worry, I can keep a secret.
That's the 'great' thing about brain fog/all those pills sometimes, the fact that I probably might not remember anything at all about this soon!
Atleast I can still laugh about it, hehe.

Patze

You and me both Shani, you and me both!  Got to love the brain fog...NOT!

But you haven't explained to us non-USA friends ... what is chocolate frosting and saltine crackers??!! ???

Bucky, I can cope with drooling (as if!!) over food I know, but you have set up a whole new level of food envy now!  I am hungry for stuff I don't even KNOW about!  (Can you tell I just had a steroid depo?!)

My best guess is that chocolate frosting is something like 'Nutella' - but I wouldn't put it on a salty cracker!!  Come on now - put me out of my misery.  What were you eating, exactly?! :D  XX Ailsa

Ailsa - I was eating some canned chocolate frosting (for cakes) and putting it on saltine crackers.  Yum!  Don't you have canned frosting where you are?  They are wonderful little containers with different flavors of frosting in them - all you do is open the can, and spread the frosting on "whatever" (usually cakes).   :D

Frosting is a creamy topping that most cakes have on them made with powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, milk and various other ingredients.  Some are made with cream cheese, corn syrup, egg whites, cocoa.

These round cans are already made up frosting, you just open it and spread it.

Trust me . . . it tastes soooooo good.  Homemade frosting is better than store bought - but, they're both yummy!

The combined taste of salty and sweet is really good.   :D

Maybe a couple of word substitutions might help? How about cake icing on soda crackers?

I can't quite bring myself to try it either, Ailsa. When I have soda crackers, I want butter on them if anything, and only then so they will have a wee bit of lubricant, otherwise they are just too dry. I've never been much of a fan of icing or frosting anyway, usually scrape it off a piece of cake (I know, what a waste!) My DH loves Nutella on crackers, when he isn't having peanut butter on them. I don't eat Nutella because of the chocolate (cruel migraine trigger) but I do love the smell of it!

Bucky - I am right there with you.  I LOVE frosting.  When I was a kid my mom would get mad because I would sneak the tubes of decorating frosting and eat them, then she'd go to decorate a cake and not have any. It was hard to deny being the one to eat them when my mouth was blue!!!

I've never tried it on crackers but now I'm curious!!!  Now I have a reason to eat frosting!!!

And by the way, since everyone on here has brain fog I doubt they'll remember your secret anyway!!

Hey Bucky, Have you ever put icing on graham crackers. This is also very good. My mom would do this with the leftover frosting when I was a kid. It really is to die for. I also love the frosting on saltines. Actually, the chocolate frosting is the best. Irish ;D

Okay, okay, I'm going to have to put frosting and graham crackers on my grocery list today.... :)

Hmmmmm, chocolate frosting and graham crackers!

This week when I went grocery shopping you wouldn't believe what happened!   :o

Two cans of frosting . . . one vanilla, and one chocolate hopped into my cart!!   ;D

They are nestled away in the pantry for some future indulgence on saltine crackers or maybe even a cake!!   ;)

Irish - I have had frosting on graham crackers before too . . that's good too.

Hmmm, with the holidays coming up - maybe, you should put canned frosting on your wish list.  LOL  It could be Sjoggie "feel good" medicine that tastes good.   :D

Next, try frosting on popcorn!!  I love it!  It is the only way I can get popcorn down with the lubricant of the frosting.

I make a batch of homemade butter frosting and keep it in the fridge at all times.  Whenever my husband and I watch TV, he pops a bag of microwave popcorn.  Then I go for my frosting!!  He thinks I am crazy . . . . but it is delicious!  Don't knock until you try it!!  :)
